What are the steps to regaining
good health?
In the past few years, I've taken
the following steps to regain better health and increase
my energy level after I had a stroke and then a heart attack
and triple-bypass surgery.
I was on a ton of prescription drugs after
these "lovely" events. Blood pressure drugs, blood
thinning drugs, cholesterol drugs, heart rate drugs... I
had to take many of them twice a day.
I really thought that I was taking the
right steps to regain my health by taking all those medications.
A few years went by and I didn't feel much healthier. I
had absolutely no energy, no vitality or effervesence like
I normally did. I was not living a quality life. Unless
you'd call being a bed vegetable a quality life! I got to
the point where I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I just wanted to feel better again.
One day after my doctor prescribed an
additional blood pressure medication I thought, "Hey, why
aren't all these other ones working? You mean I have to
ADD this one to the pile?"
I asked him what other options I had and
he sort of snorted and said, "Diet and exercise."
He couldn't truly answer my health question.
Something happened that day that really
put me on the steps to regaining good health.
I got really angry. I wanted to feel a
lot better and I felt betrayed by the medical profession
because the "solution" they prescribed made me feel worse.
I left the doctor's office determined
to find some answers about how I could improve my health.
Now I'm glad that my doctor pissed me off that day because
that got me going in the right direction on the steps to
regaining good health.

Step One
From my observation, the first
step to regaining good health is having your own personal,
self-determined need to improve. No one can force
you to want it. If you aren't personally motivated,
it's going to be hard to succeed.
Step Two
At that time, I didn't know what steps
to take to regain my health. I had some general ideas, but
there was so much conflicting and false information floating
around that nothing was very clear or simple.
So the second step to regaining
good health is simply knowing that there's more to learn
and that the information you do have might not all be true,
or at least incomplete.
Step Three
I went on a mission to find the steps
to regain my good health. I started researching, studying
and evaluating the information I found to see if I could
apply it to improve how I felt physically.
That's the third step and an ongoing
one: Improving your knowledge of how your body works and
what helps it and what doesn't help it to run well!
When you have good information, you can get good results
when you apply it.
One thing that helps me on this step is
remembering that our bodies can heal themselves to a very
great degree – so obviously, the body needs "repair
material" – things that nourish it, not things that
are harmful and toxic to it.
That was a few years ago. I am not a bed
vegetable anymore! Yee ha! I'm not a professional athlete
by any means and I'm not completely free of health situations,
but I feel 1000 times better now. I'm finding and using
good information to regain my health and improve my energy
level!
Step Four
The next step to regaining good
health would be knowing that there are actually things that
are preventing you from achieving better health,
what these things are and taking steps to eliminate or minimize
those things.
Understanding and handling the negative
factors alone can really increase your health and energy
levels. Then you can actually make progress in your efforts
to better your health. It's the difference between being
able to simply move forward, like a quarterback with a clear
shot at the goal for a touchdown, or stopped at every turn,
like a quarterback who gets sacked (tackled) all the time
before he even passes the football!
Early in my mission for some truth, I
discovered and read a book called "Natural Cures
They Don't Want You to Know About" by Kevin
Trudeau.
The information in this book really explained
why I felt so exhausted and lousy and has tons of things
you can do to improve your health. After I read it, it was
much easier to see what steps I should take to start regaining
my health. I felt enlightened and empowered.
It's actually incredible what we've come
to accept as true information, especially regarding what's
good for our health. I can now say that I really didn't
know how much prescription and over-the-counter drugs and
the processed food supply and environment of today actually
prevent vitality, effervesense and great health.
Much of it is not only getting in our
way of feeling truly alive and healthy, but is actually
making us sick in honest, verifiable fact. But you'll have
to look at the information on this and decide for yourself
what is true.
Believe
nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said
it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees
with your own reason and your own common sense.

Here's something for you to nibble on:
If the conventional "drugs-and-surgery"
healthcare method is so good, then why do we have epidemics
of obesity, diabetes, cancer... yada yada yada?
Step Five
The next step is finally getting
to "living life" and involves developing your own personal
habits and routines towards improving your health.
There are 3 main areas that require you to use your knowledge
and apply it in order to regain good health. These major
parts of physical health are:
Maybe these common sense basics got buried
under all the confusing information for you like it did
for me. I had almost given up on trying to improve my health
for lack of results and that it just seemed too hard.
Finding out what some of the major barriers
are, what the real scoop is on prescription drugs, surgery
and our processed-to-hell food supply, I realized what has
been preventing me from successfully taking steps to regain
my health.
After clearing a bunch of the false information
out of the way, I saw that improving my physical health
was mainly focusing on those three things. They are equally
important and dependent on each other. For example, sleeping
well is completely dependent on having good nutrition
and some regular
physical activity.
You can't regain good health without attention
to each of the three basic elements of health.
I believe that getting healthier should be relatively
simple and enjoyable, not something complicated
or that makes you miserable… Good health is so basic
to living! Focusing on just these three parts plus stress
management keeps it simple, effective and can become quite
enjoyable.
Let's get rid of some of the seriousness
connected to health, start living our lives NOW and create
enjoyment in this area of life by getting back to the simple
basics.
