This how to on losing weight is not about taking in less calories and burning more. While that is fundamentally true, there are a couple of other crucial factors involved in successfully losing weight that we are going to address in this article.

I have lost 50 pounds in the last few years by learning what my body actually needs in order to be healthy, and that includes a healthy weight. To make my personal weight loss journey more challenging than average, I have had diabetes for 50 years. Losing weight with diabetes has been almost impossible in the past, but with the right knowledge and lifestyle choices, it is extremely possible!

Look for false ideas!

The first part of this how to on losing weight is looking at all the ideas you have about successful weight loss, especially any ideas that you have that losing weight is hard or impossible. Those ideas may very well be based on past experience, but if you've tried to lose weight by methods that really aren't effective, then of course it seemed impossible because you didn't get any results for all your effort! That sucks!

Absorb the information in this article after getting a fresh perspective about losing weight successfully by putting any failures in the past. Losing weight successfully is completely possible and you can do it when you actually know the right methods. Hell, if I have been successful in losing weight with diabetes, 50 pounds of it, something worked! That is what I'm sharing with you.

If you want your body to burn fat, the secret is this: Carbohydrate and fat are both sources of fuel/energy for the body. Carbohydrate breaks down faster and provides "fast energy." Fat metabolizes slowly and is used only after carbohydrate is burned. So what do you think happens when a person consumes a lot of carbohydrate? Right! The body has plenty of fuel from the carbohydrate and doesn't need to burn its fat reserves for energy.

It really is that simple. It has nothing to do with counting calories. But the "calories in calories out" concept of how to lose weight has been around for a very long time. Because there is basic truth to it and is so widely accepted as virtually the only way to lose weight, it has become ingrained in our society. If you want to count calories, hey, go for it! But if you're looking for a simpler and more effective method that works with your body's natural needs for health, read on!

The other major factor in this how to losing weight has to do with a very basic and fundamental health factor. That is the pH balance of your body. Maybe you've heard a little about this when the acidity of the body is mentioned. This is a key subject in itself and requires more attention than we will go over in this article.

When the cells and tissues of the body are too acidic, which they often are in today's fast food, ultra stressful and poor nutrition society, the body cannot function well (cells are normally slightly alkaline in their healthiest state). Excess acidity is stored in fat cells. An acidic body has less oxygen at the cellular level. Oxygen is required for metabolism. In other words, the body cannot burn fat effectively when it is too acidic.
