Healthy Weight Loss Tips

Before we get into the healthy weight loss tips in this section of Improving Health & Energy.com, we need to take a good look at some of the information we've been given about weight loss that has not proven to be true.

There is plenty of "everybody knows" kinds of data about weight loss that we need to get rid of fast- because it doesn't lead to successful weight loss! This data comes from friends, family, health magazines and shows and yes, even doctors and physical fitness folks!

healthy weight loss tips

One of the most common and widespread pieces of misinformation about healthy weight loss is that losing weight is only a matter of taking in fewer calories than you use. While there is a little basic truth to this piece of information, it does not take into account such things as the types of foods you eat and how they're metabolized... Carbohydrates, fats and protein are all handled differently by the body.

Maybe you've heard this one - that as long as you're only eating a fixed number of calories and then using more than you eat, it doesn't matter what you eat. That is a totally incorrect and stupid piece of data. The quality of the food you eat is the primary factor in health and weight loss!

I have personally lost over 30 pounds in a little over a year, and I have diabetes and some other physical stuff that definitely made my previous weight loss efforts (like stroke and heart attack survivor!) seemingly impossible. What changed? I finally learned how the body works and what it needs in order to lose weight.

And once I started changing my lifestyle and what types of food I eat and the types of physical activity I do, well, it's working.

My point is that in order to benefit from the healthy weight loss tips, it's vital to look at what weight loss assumptions you're using and determine if they actually work. I mean, how many times in your life have you heard that you need to cut back on calories? Have you ever starved yourself trying to lose weight? Did it work?

When we try to operate based on incorrect information, all kinds of weird things can happen... I know so many people who have failed to lose weight based on the calorie computation, and now they think weight loss is impossible or they kick themselves for "not having enough willpower" or that kind of thing...

enjoy life!
Enjoying life!

How the heck can anyone stay motivated to reach a goal if s/he doesn't have the right data on how to reach it? Hello? Being at a healthy weight is totally related to your overall health and losing weight is achieved by learning a bit about how the body works and what it requires to enjoy good health.

Despite the never-ending torrent of information about what we're "supposed to do" to be healthy and be at a healthy weight, the statistics show that obesity and many other health problems are taking this society by storm.

What does that tell you? That we're all just lazy and don't care about our health? Well, I don't think so. It's because we just don't get good information! We need true information in order to solve any problem, and health problems and weight loss are no different.

These healthy weight loss tips be are based on an understanding of how the body works and what it needs in order to enjoy a healthy weight. It is my belief that we should enjoy our lives and being unhealthy and overweight just gets in the way!

Cheers,
BB
