Drinking water, eating oranges and more general health questions

by Bernard
(Ghisalba, BG, Italy)

Hi Bernard, here are my responses to most of your questions:

1. How many litres of water is good for a person a day?

It depends upon body weight. Water is vital for all the processes such as breathing, digestion, metabolism and detoxification that it is constantly performing! The body is constantly utilizing water for these functions.

Drinking one-half of your body weight in ounces of water daily is recommended to replace the water the body utilizes.

For example, a person weighs 150 pounds. He should drink about 75 ounces of water per day.

Converted to liters, that's little over 2 liters of water per day.

2. How dangerous or helpful is eating an orange?
I'm not sure if you're kidding me on this one! If you've heard of any dangers to eating an orange besides the potential for choking that's inherent in eating anything, then I want to know what you've heard!

Otherwise, fruits and vegetables are extremely nutritious and are extremely beneficial for your health.

You can refer to this article on fruit nutrition facts to learn just how fruits, including oranges, are helpful to your body.

3. How many times is it good for a person to have bowel movements a day?

On the average, 1 - 3 per day depending upon how many meals you've eaten the day before. This is a vital way that the body detoxifies itself, so getting this normalized is a primary health improvement goal. And it's also an excellent clue as to the state of health.

4. What is the cause and cure for frequent nasal blockage?
Sorry, I don't know!

5. How many hours of Vit.D in the sun is good for the body?

If you mean how long should one be out in the sun to help the body manufacture Vitamin D, my doctor prescribes 10 -20 minutes a day.

6. How many days to the expiry date of a product does the product become very dangerous to eat?

Use common sense... if it smells bad and/or looks bad, it's probably bad for you!

7. Is exercise before eating good or the other way round?

It depends. If you're going on an all-day hike or bicycle ride, makes sense you'd want to fuel up first or you'd croak! In general though, if you need to eat before exercising, keep it light and then eat after.

8. What foods and products are dangerous to the health and must be stayed away from?

Avoid highly processed foods as much as possible. Read these simple healthy eating guidelines for better understanding.

Cheers,
BB
