Desperate to Lose Weight Quickly? Feel like you can't lose weight?

desperate to lose weight
Help is here!
If you're desperate to lose weight quickly, chances are that you've tried many "solutions" which you haven't found successful - and are at your wit's end about losing weight. Hang on, real help is here - and there is hope!

The "secret" to losing weight is in understanding how the body works - and then doing those things that actually help the body lose weight instead of doing things that prevent the body from operating as it should, including having a proper weight.

What doesn't work - and if you've tried these, then no wonder you feel like you can't lose weight!

  • Starving yourself
  • Counting calories, trying to restrict calories
  • Exercising until you drop
  • Going on and off strange fad diets, like the cabbage soup diet, the lemonade diet or the Russian Air Force diet
  • Trying pills and potions that supposedly send your metabolism racing and the fat melting away before your very eyes

All of these methods generally damage your health (or at least your sanity) and set you up for failure.

The very first thing you should do if you're desperate to lose weight quickly is to "take a chill pill" (relax, calm down) and know that you just need to get the right information and then apply it to your lifestyle. It's not true that you can't lose weight!

How is that going to help? Well, stress causes the body to gain and hold on to weight! So relax and start by adopting the attitude that losing weight quickly is a game that you can win. Get rid of the idea that it's so dang serious! Take a look at Fad Diet.com for a humorous look at fad diets and the effort to lose weight quickly.

Now, I'm going to tell you the two main things you need to know and apply in order to help your body lose weight. You can take it from there and get going on your weight loss game. These things are based upon how your body works and what it needs in order to maintain a healthy weight. You'll find more detailed information about them at the end of this page.

And yes, I apply these to myself - I'm not some shyster trying to sell you sand if you live in the desert! I have diabetes and some other health issues - and for the first time in my life I've actually lost a significant amount of weight and continue to do so simply by learning and using these health principles..

In order to lose weight, you need to eat healthy, nutritious food, not junk food, plus cut down on the carbohydrates.

Why low carbohydrate? Again, this is based on how the body works. Carbohydrate and fat are the nutrients used to create energy. Too many carbohydrates in your food tells your body that it doesn't need to burn any fat for energy!

You don't have to count calories or go on a starvation diet to lose weight - I refuse to count calories and I do not starve at all! I choose healthier foods, take it easy on the carbs and I continue to lose weight. Plus, being able to eat fats, like cheese, nuts, butter and avocado, are not only healthy, but keep the hunger away.

One reason that so many people feel that they can't lose weight is because of incorrect information that "fats are fattening and bad for you" - they are not! That is an unproven theory - it is too much carbohydrate, especially refined, sugary carbohydrates, that "make you fat!"

There is plenty of information available on a low-carb lifestyle. A key is to find one that will really work for you, that you like and to choose healthy foods THAT YOU ENJOY! Then it will be a lot easier to stay motivated and improve your eating habits for more stable, safe weight loss and maintenance.

If you're desperate to lose weight quickly, then it's vital that you drink enough water daily. Water is a nutrient that the body requires and an important health benefit of water is its role in fat metabolism.

The body requires some sort of physical activity on a daily basis. That's a health basic. But there are specific exercises to lose weight quickly, and those fall in the category of strength/resistance training. Strength training - such as swimming or mini trampoline exercise - strengthens muscle, which then requires more energy to function. Your body will turn into a fat burning machine when you add strength training to your life and you'll soon get rid of the idea that you can't lose weight!

The last thing to help you if you're desperate to lose weight quickly is how to measure your progress. I guarantee you if you're one of those folks who do a workout and then immediately step on the scale to see how much you lost that you're going to be disappointed most of the time. That's not how the body works. Put the scale away and don't even use it for a few weeks while you're focusing on eating better and working some strength training into your life.

Then start paying attention to how you feel and how your clothes fit, as those are definitely more reliable indicators that you're making progress. The body doesn't just lose weight the second you start eating better and exercising, so what's the purpose of standing on the scale moaning and getting discouraged easily? Focus on doing the above 2 things and living your life - keep at it and the time will come when you'll be free from feeling desperate to lose weight quickly - because you've learned how do do it!

Cheers,
BB
