Being free from infirmity or disease and feeling contented

by Susan
(Australia)

I enjoyed reading your article as I have been subjected to exactly what you were talking about - by that I mean I have felt somehow we are all bad if we fail to live up to the health standards set by people who keep changing the standards anyway :)

My ideal healthy lifestyle would be as I summarized above. I'd love to be free of infirmity and disease and also feel contented.

When I focus on these ideas it changes something in my mind. I actually want to move towards that goal rather than drag myself away from my computer in order to walk or not eat donuts or whatever other unhealthy thing I want to do. It sets a problem for my mind to work on - how could I move a little closer to being free from infirmity or disease and be contented today?

Thanks for making me think about these things. I'll look forward to your next newsletter too.

To health!
Susan

Shift from a negative viewpoint to a positive viewpoint
by: B.B.

Hi Susan,

Isn't it rather amazing how simply shifting from a negative "you can't or you're bad" viewpoint to a positive, "you can and it's your choice" viewpoint can do for your morale and motivation?

I'm so happy to hear of your win! I personally find it so much easier to stay "on track" or even get back on track when I've fallen on my butt for one reason or another - when I have a positive, pro-survival goal that I've set for myself...

And I don't feel guilty any more or even think "I'm rewarding myself" if I have an occasional doughnut... I simply have an occasional doughnut because I know that overall, I am living a healthy lifestyle :)

Cheers!
BB
