Aerobic and Strength training muscles

What is the difference between aerobic muscles and strength training muscles?

Well, the first thing to know is that there aren't actually such things as different "aerobic muscles" or "strength training" muscles. The muscles that you are referring to are called "skeletal muscle." They are part of the entire "musculoskeletal system" of muscle and bone that work together to give your body power and strength. There are over 600 muscles in the human body!

The difference is related to the type of exercise and what it does for the body. Strength training specifically improves the strength of whatever muscle group is being worked on, depending on the exercise.

For example, sit-ups strengthen the abdominal muscles. Sit-ups are a strength training exercise. Strengthening muscles will help you move around much more easily among other benefits.

Aerobic exercise improves the functioning of the cardiovascular system, the heart muscle and blood vessels, which deliver nutrients and oxygen to the cells of the body. This function is what gives your body physical energy and endurance.

There are many kinds of exercises that mainly assist the cardiovascular system and use different muscle groups. Cycling, for example, is primarily a cardiovascular activity, but it also incorporates strength training for the lower body due to the resistance when pedaling.

What is key to know is that the body needs all 4 types of exercise to function optimally, strength training, cardiovascular, flexibility exercise and exercise that improves balance and coordination. One activity that actually incorporates all 4 types of exercise is mini-trampoline exercise - I personally do it and love it!
Cheers,
BB
